Five offline RPGs that respect your storage and your time
Offline RPGs are a tricky category. Too many of them hide their best content behind online-only events or timers that quietly kill the fun. These five don't.
My top pick is still Emberfall Saga for its tight turn-based combat and a story that doesn't overstay its welcome. The whole campaign downloads up front, so you never hit a wall mid-quest when your signal drops.
When choosing an offline RPG, check two things before you commit. First, does the save work locally? Second, is there an energy system that stops you playing? A good offline RPG should let you play as long as you want.
The reward of these games is the sense of progress you own. No server can take your save away, and no outage ends your session. That's worth a lot on a long commute.
